LĪHU'E Feast
A “FEAST” is a community and crowd-funding dinner that celebrates local chefs featuring local ingredients, and supports public art, placemaking and other community-driven projects, as well as the individuals and organizations who lead the projects. At Līhuʻe Feast, attendees pay to join a catered reception featuring local ingredients, and a portion of that payment is set aside as an award to the presenters.
While attendees eat, mingle, various presenters showcase their work and explain their community project. After the presenters are finished, attendees vote on which project they wish to award. From community gardens to moʻolelo murals, Līhuʻe Feast has served as a catalyst for community change and empowerment. Allowing community projects to be the highlight of the night.
Each Līhuʻe Feast challenges our local chef in creating a 100% locally sourced dinner to showcase the many different farmers and makers on Kauaʻi. Līhuʻe Feast is a zero waste event, with every item being edible, reusable, or compostable.
